RESTORING OUR COMMUNITY
Recognizing the enormity of the challenges our society faces,
SIM M. SPENCER Community Development Center is dedicated to making a lasting impact. While our efforts are driven by our organization’s focus, we spread a wide net by investing in a variety of programs that service everyone.

After-school Tutoring
We assist communities with tutoring services that aid in the individual student’s need and meeting that student where he or she is, academically. Our program focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). We assist school aged children wherein we offer step by step instructions, peer to peer learning and focus groups.

Homeless Services
Through in-kind donations and community support, our organization provides food, clothing, housing assistance referrals, and community & employment resources. Although our brick-and-mortar building was founded recently, our members have been “doing the work” for more than a decade. Our goal is to guide persons experiencing homelessness towards transitional and permanent housing.

Job Coaching
We support our community through the entire job search process which includes: job searching, resume building, interviewing, job maintenance, and job counseling. Job counseling includes support groups that help individuals with the stress and anxiety that often occurs when searching for next career.
